Meeting Minutes |
May 2008 GREETINGS,This
meeting holds a special place for me and a lot of the other members. At this
meeting we awarded our annual scholarship to seven very deserving people.
Five, out of the seven, found time in their busy schedule to come to the
meeting and receive the award in person. The
seven recipients were: 1.
Elizabeth Bradley, daughter of
Thomas Maloney. 2.
Lyndsey Maloney, daughter of
Thomas Maloney. 3.
Stephanie Schoenfeld,
grand-daughter of John Schoenfeld. 4.
Laura Barkalow, daughter of
Neal Barkalow. 5.
Karin Hensellek, daughter of
Ulrich Hensellek. 6.
Randy Grizzle, son of Randall
Grizzle. 7.
Rebecca Seiter, daughter of
Gaylord Poe. I
want to congratulate this year’s recipients and thank all the members who
put in the extra effort in the classes that we held to raise the money to be
able to fund the scholarship program. It feels good to help someone better
themselves and I’m personally glad to be a part of it! Something
I need to add is that members in good standing can request an application
for the Ohio Chapter Scholarship as well as the SW Division Scholarship.
After all, our Division donated $500.00 to the Ohio Chapter Scholarship
program this year. We might as well have a chance of a SW Division
member’s son, daughter, etc… being awarded the Ohio Chapter Scholarship. See

Items
of interest from the May 14th, 2008 meeting An executive committee meeting was held prior to our
regular business meeting. The following items were discussed: ·
A
membership committee was formed with Dewayne Jenkins being the chairman. ·
The
executive board approved up to $500.00 for an expense account for one of the
membership committee members to drive to the different building departments
and speak personally with them about the SW Division. The money is set aside
to offset the costs of gas, food and lodging if necessary. Prior to the
start of the business meeting Gaylord Poe awarded the scholarships to the
recipients who were able to attend the meeting.

Ken
Dunning was not available for questions at today’s meeting. He did
forward a spreadsheet to me and our balance is $15,611.66 with our
scholarships paid. |

Roy Adams was available for questions and comments at
today’s meeting. |
UL Report Jim Zalipski was available for questions and comments
at today’s meeting. Jim reported that UL has a new sign standard in
place. Check the UL website for product information and recalls at www.ul.com Dave Hensley was not available for today’s meeting.

Librarian's Report John Humphrey was not available for questions and
comments at today’s meeting. He is doing well but he had a doctor’s
appointment that kept him from attending. |

Code Discussion A discussion was held with regard to 210.12. Code Instruction Mario Mumfrey, ESI with IBI, gave a detailed
presentation on article 680. |
